Final setup day

Today was the last change to prepare yourself and your bike for the big tour. For personal care I bought some powdered Gatorade which you can mix with water. Besides that some bananas and fruity nuts. Also the bike has been tweaked a bit. The chain has been cleaned, some stickers have been applied (ROAM, DHL, Clif Bar, Schalbe, Sinner Bikes and my own number, 25) and I did some experimenting with the placement of the Contour+ camera. I was planning to record the entire coast-to-coast ride and make a time-lapse. So the camera has to be as vibration free as possible (see pictures below).

Also my bike has three new tires, the previously mentioned Schwalbe Tryker. All riders who will be riding these tires are asked to fill out a form with their findings. As for I can tell now the tires feel more direct compared to the Schwalbe Kojaks. Yeah, doing some rounds on the parking lot and getting a Whopper in the drive-through isn't enough to form a solid opinion.

The (pre) meeting of yesterday was very useful. A lot of questions have been answered. Tonight will be the final meeting where the last things will be discussed for our exodus tomorrow afternoon. In short it's the idea to arrive at the square with the fountain around 11:30 / 12:00 AM. We'll stay there for a few hours to show our bikes to the crowd and media. After that we'll be sent off by a official and the day will be declared Velomobile day.
