Holiday in Wuppertal
Finally holiday! After working for two days last week I prepared myself for the trip to Wuppertal (Germany). Preparations means, doing some shopping, creating a route, uploading the maps to the GPS, getting things ready, lubricating the chain, mounting a new set of front tires and cleaning and polishing the bike. Besides that I lay down on the couch and relaxed.

Cycling with the Ketelbrothers
Last week I borrowed the Radical Design Cyclone Bicycle Trailer from Georg Dekkinga as preparation for my trip to Wuppertal (a week of Biblestudy in Germany with the subject: "A much better Covenant") and my participation in Euro Tour 2013. Last Saturday I packed up a few things (like my tent, sleeping gear and some clothes) in the trailer and cycled to my youngest brother Ewout in Stadskanaal. He is also going to Wuppertal and he is willing to bring this stuff.

Beetle Rally
Last Saturday we went to House Singraven in Denekamp for a Beetle Rally. My middle brother is getting married this Friday and since he 's crazy about VW Beetles we thought this would be a nice idea for a bachelor party. A fun, but also long day that we ended together with the ladies (who where having their own scholar party with the bride to be) at a BBQ at our parents house.

Feestboek was a success!
I never thought it would be this much work to organize a party. Get some games, order foot, rent the club, laptop, projector, profile stickers, drink vouchers, decorations, balloons, prizes for the games, music, Like stickers, to much to mention. And of course, promotion for the party. And of course not everything goes as plans. I received the stickers to print the profile stickers on and bought the paper for the vouchers and the home made memory game. Turns out my printer ink was empty. I quickly ordered a new cartridge and printed and cut everything the day before.

New site for FrozenImage
Lately I've been busy creating new websites. A while ago I renewed the Ulteam website. And last Wednesday I put the my brother's new photo website, called FrozenImage, online. The problem with the current website was that the webhoster was getting rid of PHP 5.2 support and the site could not function with PHP 5.3 without a major upgrade. That's why I built a completely new website.

Patch work
A week later then planned, but here is my story about New Year's Eve and what happened next. It was a busy weekend with a afternoon of rowing on Saturday. First I rowed from 11 AM to 1 PM and after that I coached a ladies team from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM. Everything went well and the weather played nicely. Afterwards we drank a cup of tea in the club house and then I climbed into my bike to go to my youngest brother and his wife in Stadskanaal. I've cycled the route before so I could almost do it blindfolded. And that's a good thing as it gets dark very early in the day.

Back home!
The last couple of days in New York City were very nice. I've met a lot of people and I've been on a pub-crawl or visited a bar with bluegrass music. I've had a delicious meal at a nice Mexican restaurant and Tom's Restaurant (where Jerry Seinfeld always sits), took a walk in the park and watched the sunset at the Hudson River. In short, I've had a very god time (especially the last couple of days). But all good things must end and have to get back home, sniff...

Uncle Willy
I'm lying in my bed sleeping in until at 8 AM the Tour de France ringtone sounds. I pick up my phone and the first thing I hear is: "Good morning uncle Wilfred!". My youngest brother became a dad at 3 AM. Tonight I went to the new parents and the little kid and he's adorable, healthy with everything on it. He listens to the name Joas, which means "The Lord has given".
