Updates, updates, updates...

The last post on my website was more then two months ago, but I have some good news. I'm still alive! I just had little to say. So here is a short update about some stuff.

Velcro bike computer holder

For a while I'm annoyed with the fact that my Garmin Edge 500 bike computer in my velomobile has a bad reception. This is because the bike is made out of carbon and I keep the bike computer deep inside my velomobile in the pouch on my velomobile bag. Time for improvement. Normally there is a holder on the dashboard, but that is also 'inside' the bike and I don't want that. A week or two ago I stumbled upon the video below and that got me thinking.

'The big project'

I mentioned a big box and darkness before for 'the big project'. Last weekend it was finally time to finish it all. I've already bought six pieces of two meter long cable conduit and I've made an appointment with my parents (my dad is a construction worker) on Sunday. If you haven't noticed, 'the big project' is a home theater projection.

First we started to hang the screen. That starts with defining the exact place of the mounts.

Let there be darkness

In preparation for the big project I went to the hardware store last Wednesday evening to get some roller-blinds. My mother brought it to my attention that I should visit Praxis because they had a 25% discount on all window decorations.

Big box

Yesterday I placed a large order at a later to mention webshop. I'm busy doing a new project which you will hear of in about 2 to 3 weeks. Large orders come in large boxes. The thing is, I have a small car.

Google Nexus 7 tablet

49 days. That's how long I had to wait for the ordered Google Nexus 7 I received last Thursday. And for those who don't know what it is. It's Google's newest tabled with the Android operating system.

Feestboek was a success!

I never thought it would be this much work to organize a party. Get some games, order foot, rent the club, laptop, projector, profile stickers, drink vouchers, decorations, balloons, prizes for the games, music, Like stickers, to much to mention. And of course, promotion for the party. And of course not everything goes as plans. I received the stickers to print the profile stickers on and bought the paper for the vouchers and the home made memory game. Turns out my printer ink was empty. I quickly ordered a new cartridge and printed and cut everything the day before.

Building a Stegomech

Because I built a new website for our theater sports club I received a gift a couple of weeks ago. It was a wooden kit for a Stegosaurus. Today I finally got around to putting it together. All those tiny parts! Quite soothing to do so actually. The end result is, after some three hours of work, quite good. Below are some pictures and a video, because yeah... it can move!

ROAM preparations (part 3)

A last update before I head to Naarden tomorrow afternoon where I'm staying at fellow ROAM rider Bram S. for the night so we can arrive at 7 AM at Schiphol. Two weeks ago I ordered a new MacBook Pro, because my old one died a few weeks before. It was tight, but a day before leaving it arrived. After installing all the necessary software I gathered all my stuff for the backpack. You know what's annoying... the feeling you get that you've forgotten something. Once on my way I know the feeling will disappear, but I don't like it.

ROAM preparations (part 2)

The next preparations are more technical by nature. I was planning to make a time-lapse movie in the 30 days it takes us to cycle from west to east. You have to take a picture every several seconds, but them all behind each other thus creating a sped up movie (like the example below).
